A new Wing King is crowned

A new “Wing King” has risen at the Donald W. Reynolds teen center, and his name is Leo Jimenez.

Jimenez dominated all divisions of the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows 3rd Annual Chicken Wing Eating Contest on Nov. 1, ending up undefeated and savoring the sweet taste of victory smothered in hot sauce. A bleary-eyed (and probably queasy) Jimenez humbly accepted his trophy before probably passing out (we’re not sure).

In all, the Club saw 42 teen participants and eight staff participants put down more than 120 pounds of wings. Yep, 120 pounds.

Other notable contestants include Juan Haro, who won the BBQ division, and Carlos Enriquez in the staff division. Enriquez stunned the crowd by defeating two-time staff champ Leon Morehead. Morehead immediately started training for next year in the hopes of recapturing the title.

Congratulations winners!
