‘Nite Out’ the highlight of Boys & Girls Club Week

The Club is getting ready for one of our biggest events of the year: Boys & Girls Club Week, with the highlight on Wednesday during Boys & Girls Nite Out. Here’s the schedule:

Monday, March 21: Be Active Day

We’re kicking off Boys & Girls Club Week with a fun twist: the Battle of Boys vs. Girls. Join us as the Club transforms into the epicenter of fun and games, with everything from “intense” hula-hooping, jump rope, target-throwing and even giant Jenga. It’s all friendly competition to highlight fun ways to stay active and fit. The fun runs 5-7 p.m.

Tuesday, March 22: Be Smart & Healthy Day

Every day at the Boys & Girls Club, we work together to encourage children to make smart and healthy choices. For Be Smart & Healthy Day we invite our friends and partners in the community to come together for a health & education fair that will include the American Heart Association, Make-A-Wish, the Obesity Prevention Foundation, Small Smiles Dentistry, to name a few, plus several community resource agencies. The fair runs 5-6:30 p.m.

Wednesday, March 23: Boys & Girls Nite Out

Bring out the big tent – the circus is in town! During this annual highlight of Boys & Girls Club Week, the Club transforms into a carnival with food and games like “Chicken in the Pot” and “Ring Toss” where hundreds of kids (and the adult volunteers they’re paired with) can win prizes! Performers from Circus Circus will join in the fun with their world-famous stage show. The doors to the big tent will be open 4:30-7:30 p.m.

Thursday, March 24: Be Magical Day

Channel your inner fairy tale or sorcerer for a magical day focusing on the importance of art, imagination and creativity. Be Magical Day will be highlighted by Bruka Theatre’s performance of “Rumpelstiltskin” at 5 p.m., followed by a question-and-answer session with the cast. Other activities include face-painting, mask-making, paper bag puppet-making, a family fun picture booth and more. The evening will conclude at 7 p.m. with a fun-filled march through the Club with kids dressed up as their favorite fairytale characters.

Friday, March 25: Be Together Family Day

Strong communities start with strong families, and strong families are built with quality time together. Come down to the Boys & Girls Club starting a 5 p.m. for the ALL PRO DAD presentation, a discussion of fatherhood and family topics. The entertainment continues with coloring stations, face-painting, board games, dinner and a movie. And don’t forget: It’s a pajama night for the kids!
