Boys & Girls Club helps kick off Nevada’s Big Give

This fall, the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows is participating in a fundraiser that aims to elevate non-profits doing good work throughout Nevada.

Club Chief Professional Officer Mike Wurm joined Nevada First Lady Kathleen Sandoval, Terry Lee Wells Nevada Discovery Museum Development Director Gretchen Kelley Bietz and Stacey Wedding, president of NevadaGIVES, at the Discovery Museum on Monday to kick off a campaign that aims to raise $1 million statewide with a day of online giving Nov. 17.

Hundreds of charities and non-profits throughout the state have registered online to be eligible to receive donations that day. This annual initiative, launched by NevadaGIVES, is a unique, high-visibility promotion of personal giving designed to bring new donors and dollars to local nonprofit organizations.

The Club’s page, where supporters have the option of submitting a secure donation to the Club online, is at http://www.razoo.com/story/Positiveplace, but unlike any other philanthropic event, Nevada’s Big Give is an opportunity to benefit all Nevada nonprofits by activating donations online. It’s as simple as: Point. Click. Give. Every registered 501(c)(3) organization in Nevada is automatically registered to participate and receive donations through the website www.nvbigive.org.

In order to collect and process donations on Nov. 17, NevadaGIVES is working with Razoo.com, a seasoned community giving day fundraising tool.
