Be a part of the Pennington Project

The Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows moved one step closer to the start of construction for the new William N. Pennington Facility, Jan. 9, with the demolition of the old YMCA building on Foster Drive in Reno. The demolition party included City of Reno officials, Foundation partners and members of the Board of Directors to kick-off the next phase of the project and help make way for the new 55,000-square-foot Club facility scheduled to be completed by summer 2014.

The new Pennington Boys & Girls Club facility will serve the needs of both the immediate neighborhood and many nearby at-risk youth, expected to serve an additional 4,000 youth annually, an increase of 25 percent for the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows. The Club is now working on the public fundraising phase for the project and reaching out to corporations, foundations, families and individual donors from the community to support and become a part of the new facility. Although the building will be owned and operated by the Boys & Girls Club, it truly belongs to the northern Nevada community, and it is only with the community’s support that this endeavor will succeed.

So, to answer the next important question . . . “How can we support the project?” There are many naming and recognition opportunities throughout the property to commemorate your participation in the project – from $100 bricks in the front walkway to $1,000,000 wings within the facility.

Here’s a complete breakdown of the opportunity levels:
