Boys & Girls Club of Winnemucca Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

The Boys & Girls Club of Winnemucca officially debuts its new William N. Pennington Facility, May 17 at Noon with a ribbon cutting ceremony.  The 36,000 square foot building is located at 1973 Witworth Way in Winnemucca, Nevada.  In addition to the ceremony, the Club will also host an open house from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 pm, complete with tours and light refreshments.

The new William N. Pennington Facility includes separate areas for teens and youth with education and STEM classrooms, computer labs, recreation rooms, art rooms and a recording studio. It houses a cafeteria/multi-purpose room and a two-court gymnasium, as well as an indoor running and walking track.  The facility will also offer a fitness center open to the entire community meant to generate revenue to help sustain the new facility.

The Boys & Girls Club of Winnemucca will be open for summer programming beginning June 12th.   The facility will also be open for after school programming and school breaks, to accommodate parents’ varied schedules. While at the Club, young people will participate in a wide range of programs and activities that will support academics, encourage healthy lifestyles and build character and citizenship.

The Boys & Girls Club of Winnemucca will exist under the guidance and support of the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows.

Fernley Fun Color Run/Walk 5K

Join the Fernley Fun Color Run/Walk 5K Saturday, April 29th, 2017
The Color Run/Walk will benefit the Fernley Boys and Girls Club of Truckee Meadows.

Onsite Registration starts at 8:30am
Pre-registered check-in/stretch session at 9:00am
5K starts at 10:00am sharp

13th Annual Spelling Bee

All Clubs will have a preliminary Spelling Bee at their respective sires prior to Friday, April 21st, 2017.  First place winners from each grade from each Boys & GIrls Club of Truckee Meadows’  site will compete in the Finals on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows PENN Facility.

Placing in the Spelling Bee finals is as follows: 1 st, 2nd, 3rd place for each grade from K-8 th 1 st, 2nd, 3rd place for all High school participants There will be trophies for 1st-3rd place and all final participants will receive t-shirt.  Breakfast will be provided!

Volunteer Appreciation Dinner

This is a dinner to honor all those Volunteer Heroes who gave their time and effort to the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows in 2016.  We can’t do what we do without you.  Tonight we celebrate, YOU!

Kids With Cameras

We partnered with Reno Tahoe International Film Festival and Galaxy Luxury+ IMAX Theaters in Sparks,  to present Kids with Cameras. An evening of celebrating short fun, creative films that were written by and star local children and Club kids. The evening will provide our region’s future filmmakers with a red carpet premiere and a Q&A session after the screening.

Wrap up National Boys & Girls Club Week with Family Night at our Pennington Facility. All members and their families are
invited to participate in a night of art and family fun. Enjoy paint & sip, jewelry making, leather stamping, coloring stations
and a fun photo booth! We will provide food and plenty of entertainment for our members and their families.
