July at the Club: Music & Arts
This July, the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows is proud to celebrate Music & Arts—highlighting the creativity, expression, and talent of our members across all Club sites. Through intentional programming, youth are given opportunities to explore their artistic interests, build confidence, and discover new ways to express themselves. A key part of this work is led by our dedicated Art Director, who develops engaging, age-appropriate curriculum that is shared across all locations.
Our 9th Street Band is a shining example of this impact, giving youth the chance to learn new instruments, collaborate with peers, and perform in front of live audiences. This month, members of our Ninth Street band will take the stage to open Now or Never Fest at the J Resort on July 11, performing before an exciting lineup of national artists. Even better, a portion of the concert proceeds will benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows, helping support programs for local youth. Tickets are available at noworneverfest.com.
We’re also excited to celebrate one of our talented members, Emi R., who recently earned 2nd place nationally in the Boys & Girls Clubs of America National Arts Contest. This incredible achievement reflects the creativity, dedication, and talent that our youth bring to the Club each day—and we couldn’t be prouder!
Annual Talent Show
One of our favorite events at the Club is our Annual Talent Show happening on July 17th! This highly anticipated event gives youth from across our clubhouses and school sites the opportunity to take the stage and showcase their unique talents in front of friends and staff.
From singing and dancing to comedy, music, and creative performances, the Talent Show is a celebration of confidence, courage, and self-expression. It’s always a fun and inspiring event that highlights just how talented our Club community truly is. We encourage families to come out, support, and celebrate the hard work and creativity of our performers!
Marges Camp (Overnight Experience) July 19-24
One of the most memorable parts of summer at the Club is Marge’s Camp, our week-long overnight camp at Grizzly Creek Ranch, July 19-24, 2026. This special opportunity allows youth ages 9-12 to step outside their everyday routine and enjoy the outdoors, build independence, and create lasting friendships.
Campers participate in a variety of activities that encourage teamwork, confidence, and personal growth—all while making unforgettable summer memories. For many members, Marge’s Camp is a highlight of their Club experience and a tradition they look forward to year after year.
Cost is $20 per camper for the week, and financial assistance is available.

Sports & Recreation
Summer is in full swing, and our sports programs are keeping members active, building teamwork, and creating unforgettable memories. On Friday, July 10, Club members from across our summer sites will come together for our exciting World Cup Day! Each site will represent a different country in a full-day soccer tournament complete with an opening ceremony, team banners, and country jerseys. Beyond the competition, members will have the opportunity to learn about the cultures they represent while celebrating sportsmanship, teamwork, and global connection.
Looking ahead, registration is now open for our Fall Flag Football and Fall Basketball leagues. These programs help youth develop athletic skills, confidence, leadership, and healthy habits in a fun and supportive environment. We can’t wait to see our athletes back on the field and the court this fall!
