June at the Club: Summer of Possibilities

Summer at the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows is a season full of fun, learning, and unforgettable experiences. Our traditional Summer Day Camp offers a safe, structured environment where youth can stay active, build friendships, and continue learning even while school is out.

Each day is filled with intentional programming designed to support the whole child, including academic enrichment, creative arts, physical activity, and leadership development. With caring staff and engaging activities, families can feel confident knowing their children are spending their summer in a positive and supportive space.

Summer Specialty Camps

Are you looking for exciting camps tailored to your child’s interests? Be sure to explore the Club’s wide variety of Summer Specialty Camps! With 30–40 week-long options available, these camps give youth the opportunity to dive deeper into specific hobbies, skills, and passions.

Here are just a few of the Specialty Camps offered this summer:

  • Dino Discovery Camp
  • Tennis Camp
  • Chill Skate Camp
  • Swim Camp
  • Space Explorers Camp
  • Crafty Creators
  • Junior Chefs Camp and more!

Specialty Camps are designed to run alongside our Traditional Day Camp program. This means campers can attend their specialty camp and still enjoy all the fun of Day Camp before or after their scheduled session.

Details to Know:

  • Specialty Camp fees include the weekly $50 Day Camp fee
  • Camps are offered at select Club locations, primarily the Pennington Clubhouse
  • Options vary by site and interest area
  • Weekly from June 9, 2026 – August 7, 2026

These camps are a great way for youth to explore new interests while staying connected to the full Club experience!

Marges Camp (Overnight Experience)

One of the most memorable parts of summer at the Club is Marge’s Camp, our week-long overnight camp at Grizzly Creek Ranch, July 19-24, 2026. This special opportunity allows youth ages 9-12 to step outside their everyday routine and enjoy the outdoors, build independence, and create lasting friendships.

Campers participate in a variety of activities that encourage teamwork, confidence, and personal growth—all while making unforgettable summer memories. For many members, Marge’s Camp is a highlight of their Club experience and a tradition they look forward to year after year.

Cost is $20 per camper for the week, and financial assistance is available.

Space is limited. Contact membership@bgctm.org for more information.

Celebrating the Class of 2026

The Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows’ Class of 2026 is heading into college, trades, military service, and the workforce — every single one of them. Thanks to the Club’s free Life & Workforce Readiness Program, teens across northern Nevada received hands-on support, including college prep, FAFSA assistance, resume workshops, career certifications, and more.

“Our goal is not just helping students graduate but helping them launch into successful futures,” said Allen Taylor, Life & Workforce Director.

“The Boys & Girls Club has been a huge part of my life since kindergarten. Club helped me stay focused on my future — and inspired my goal of earning an engineering degree so I can give back through robotics and mentorship.”

— Andy C., Club teen member

Nationally, Boys & Girls Club alumni are 33% more likely to see themselves as leaders, and young alumni are 60% more likely to be employed compared to their peers.

Junior Giants Baseball League

Junior Giants League

We’re excited to share information about the Junior Giants Baseball League, a free, non-competitive baseball and t-ball program for youth ages 5–13 who simply want to learn the game, build friendships, and have fun.

This program, run by the Junior Giants Community Fund in partnership with the San Francisco Giants, focuses on teamwork, confidence, and positive experiences both on and off the field. The Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows proudly supports this program locally through a cooperative partnership. All participants receive a free Junior Giants T-shirt and hat, and gloves are available at no cost for those who qualify.

Program Details:

  • Season: June 9 – August 2
  • Location: Oppio Park (2355 18th Street, Sparks, NV)
  • Cost: Free

The Junior Giants program also relies on parent and community volunteers to serve as coaches and team parents. Each team requires at least two coaches and one team parent, making this a great opportunity for families to get involved and support their child’s experience.
