May at the Club: Supporting Youth Mental Health

This May, the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows is proud to highlight the mental health support we provide year-round for youth and families. We know that helping kids succeed means caring for the whole child—and supporting the families around them—by creating spaces where they feel safe, supported, and understood. 

This year, we took an important step forward with the opening of our Bright Futures Wellness Center at the Pennington Clubhouse. This new space is thoughtfully designed to support healing and growth, featuring four private counseling rooms, a decompression room, a resource room, a dedicated art therapy space, and even regular visits from therapy dogs. Through these efforts, we now provide over 1,000 hours of behavioral health support annually, along with ongoing mental health counseling for nearly 100 youth each year. In a time when Nevada continues to face significant youth mental health challenges, bringing these services directly into a place where kids already feel safe helps reduce barriers and ensures support is available when it’s needed most. The Bright Futures Wellness Center reflects our commitment to meeting youth where they are and supporting them in building strong, healthy futures.
