Programming Frequently Asked Questions
When school’s out, the Club is in.
Check out our Frequently Asked Questions regarding all things Membership at the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows.
- When does the Annual Membership start and end?
- The Annual Membership becomes active June 1st of every year, but you can register for this mid-April. The Annual Membership expires every year on May 30th. This is required to enter any of our facilities.
- Does the Annual Membership Apply to All Facilities?
- Regardless of the location selected upon initial signup, the Annual Membership is applicable at all of our locations at BGCTM.
- When does Financial Assistance Start and End?
- Financial Assistance expires every year on June 30th. New applications are available from June 1st of every year.
- How can I add a pickup contact?
- On the online portal, please navigate to the tab titled “Update your Profile.” Once there, select the member’s name you’d like to update this information for, and under “Select Form to Update” click “Child Emergency Contacts” and enter all required information. Please be sure the pickup’s name is matching on an appropriate form of identification.
- If my member needs medication, are staff able to give it to them?
- Our sites do not have on-site nurses and are not able to give a child their medication. We keep all medications in the office, and the member must know the time of when they need to take this medication and how to take it themselves.
- How do I know my member is on the rosters for bussing?
- As long as the school is listed on the membership form and the member is registered with the monthly fees, the member will automatically be on the bussing list.
- How does the bussing process work?
- Our buses wait for 7 minutes after the bell rings for members to get on. We do not keep attendance and do not wait for members to get on. Please call the school if you have concerns about your member getting on the bus to the Boys & Girls Club.
- Does the Club provide meals?
- During the school year, we provide breakfast and dinner. Over breaks, we provide breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack. Please ask your site coordinator for a menu if you have questions.
- How do I register my Teen?
- Teens only need the Annual Membership to attend facilities and do not require monthly registrations to attend. There are no monthly fees.
- My member is on the waiting list, how will I be notified if they get off?
- Sites are currently reaching out via phone to notify of an opening at a selected location if their capacity is able to be raised. In the future, we plan to reach out via email.
- How soon can I enroll my members for breaks?
- Break registrations will typically go online a month in advance. Keep an eye on our social media and emails to be notified of when these registrations become live.
